Not sure what to say?

"Frau Jehle", as she was then known, was a beloved German professor to me and others at U.Va. in the late 60's. I lost track of her until seeing her at the downtown Charlottesville recycling center thirty years later. "You're Frau Jehle," I beamed; she remembered me, and with that wonderful smile said she was Frau Raisig now. A beautiful, beautiful lady.

Eberhard and Dietrich:

I remember still my first time eating cottage cheese at your house on Sherwood so long ago. I am sorry to hear news of your mother's passing, but I hope that you take solace in the fact that she is at peace with your father.

Then, when art department colleague Bill Seitz became desperately ill, she dedicated much time and effort to his care and assistance to his wife, Irma. Later yet, when I was mending from a hip fracture, others sent cards and called, but Dieta came to my house with an unforgettably delicious chocolate bar. For many years she attended and participated in our AAUW Branch sharing so much...
