Dionicio Daniel "Danny" Cruz

RIP Mr. Cruz! Mr. Cruz hired my sister at Beard Elementary as administrative assistant to the Principal Mr. Cruz!! I met him at that time!! My sister Sherry thought very highly of Mr.Cruz!! I´m thankful I had the opportunity to get to know him then with what opportunities I had!! He was a real pleasure to be around!! I´m saddened to learn of Mr. Cruz passing today!! Sending thoughts and prayers to the family!!!

Oh my goodness I'm so sadden by this news . Mr Cruz was my principal when I first started my teaching career. He was a great leader and role model. Every year during the 4th of July parade I'd see him marching with the other Veteran's. I pray his family finds comfort in knowing he was an amazing man. May his soul rest in peace

I am heart broken to read the passing of my buddy and fellow Principal in Modesto City Schools. For many years I had the "honored seat" of sitting next to Danny at the boring principal meetings. He made them not so boring with his great sense of humor. We shared many happy moments at in-services and meetings together. Most of the time he made ME buy lunch. Oh Mr. Cruz, I loved this man!! I think like many other teachers he hired over the years, he was like a father to me. He would always "tell it like it is," with no sugar coating. He expected the best from his teachers and students, and in return he always gave his best. We were supposed to have lunch after he got out of the hospital. I'm sad that never happened. Tommy and Lisa, your father was the best and I hope your memories help get you through this difficult time.

I'm happy that I was able to work for Danny Cruz when he was principal at Orville Wright several years ago about 1985. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. My name is Yolanda. My condolences to his family and friends.
