We had the opportunity to live next door to them in Reston VA for many years and while our lives took us in different directions, we managed to stay in touch. Dirk was not only a Client of the company I work for, Ameristar Fence in Tulsa, OK, but over the years we had become buddies and since his Mother in law lives close by here in Broken Arrow, OK, he would call occasionally and ask for company references to find repair persons he could trust, and as I always told him my husband knows everybody who is one of the good guys. I only found out about this today, and am just heartbroken to think what all his friends and family have been going through...

My deepest sympathy for the tremendous loss within your family. Dirk was such a great guy that I had hoped to see again someday at one of our class reunions.
