Mrs. Dixie Comer, 83, of Liberty, died on Friday, July 22, 2022, at her home.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Liberty Road.
Dixie was born August 18, 1939, in Danville, Va., the daughter of Solomon and Lula Parker Wright.
Dixie was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. She will be remembered for her sharp wit and dry sense of humor. She was a voracious reader who enjoyed spending her time outdoors with family and friends. Dixie was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed painting, swimming and camping. She will be missed.
In addition to her parents, Dixie was preceded in death by eleven siblings.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, John Comer; son, Jon Comer (Veronica) of Graham; daughters, Deborah Gardner (Richard) and Malissa Dark (Cecil), all of Liberty, Mary McCann (Mike) and Katrina Strickland (Reggie), all of Greensboro; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild.
