Praying for peace and comfort for you Kelli and your family.

Dixie was such an amazing person and a kind friend to a lonely child. .She helped me 'graduate' from Children's books to Young Adult -- even though I was a third or fourth grader. She fostered a love of books and reading and, if truth be told, had a hand in my becoming a librarian.
My career was ONLY 30 years -- a pittance compared to her 60 years.
I am so glad the City of Denison created an award in her name.

I am so sorry, Kelli. I worked at the library with your mother from 1958 through 1962 when Mrs. Spiker and Lowell Lindsey were directors. She was my friend. God bless and comfort you. Judy Miller Whitt, Azle, Texas

Unfortunately, it was not my privilege to meet Dixie but I know how loving she was to her daughter, Kelli who was devoted to her. I also know Dixie raised a sweet, kind and loving daughter who was the apple of her eye which speaks a great deal about Dixie herself. No one could have given a loved one better care than Kelli gave her Mother. Bless all of Dixie's loved ones, especially Kelli. May God hold you in the Palm of His Hand, dear Kelli as you walk through this valley.
