Dixie A. Johnson

Obituary – Fairfield Dixie A. Johnson , age 101, of Fairfield died Wednesday morning at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield. She was born August 30, 1915 in Fairfield, the daughter of Fred C. and Dottie Russell Johnson. She graduated from Fairfield High School, received her B.S. degree from Parsons College, her Master's degree and completed her work for a Ph.D. from Wayne University. Dixie was a retired high counselor. Dixie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, she served as an elder on the Session for 4 years, and a member of the Presbyterian Women's board. PEO Chapter MB, Fairfield Women's Club and secretary and was a board member for 6 years, Retired Teachers Association, DAR, Republican Women, ABRACADABRA, Fairfield Golf & Country Club, charter member of the Friendship Force, past president of the Jefferson County Board on Aging, Past chairman of the Alpha Circle, Life member of the Hospital Auxillary, Friends of the Library and the Art Association. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Manerva Johnson. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, at the First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield with Pastor Joe Phipps officiating. No visitation is scheduled. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery Memorials to the First Presbyterian Church or to the Fairfield Women's Club. Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
