Ferguson Funeral Home - Scottdale Obituary

Dolores R. (Spinola) Argiro, 81 of Scottdale (East Huntingdon Township) passed away at 3:20 PM Sunday, August 11, 2024 at her residence, surrounded by her loved ones! Dolores was born September 29, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY, a daughter of the late James and Margaret (Copp) Spinola. She was married for 55 years to Alfred T. Argiro, who passed away on November 27, 2017.

Dolores was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was the proprietor, along with her late husband, of D’s Market on Park Avenue, Scottdale and a longtime member of the Partner Parish of Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Scottdale. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, going to bingos and casinos, playing scrabble, and baking!

Dolores will be sadly missed by her loving family; her four children, Alfred Argiro Jr., Joann Shannon and husband Mark, Diane Toth and husband Dave, and Roxanne Argiro (who served as her caregiver) and fiance James Dillinger; her six grandchildren; her four great grandchildren; and her brother, Steven Spinola and wife Elaine. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Crecco.

Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 SPRING STREET, SCOTTDALE (www.fergusonfunerals.com). A private viewing, service, and burial in St. John’s Cemetery was held at the convenience of the family and officiated by Pastor Tom Shirer. Memorials may be made to: Excela Health Home Care & Hospice @ 501 W. Otterman Street, Greensburg, PA 15601.
