RIP Dr Carruth Thank you for improving the lives of so many babies and their families

I so admired and loved this lady. She saved so many babies´ lives. She developed so many programs at BUMC that save babies´ lives. She worked twenty-four hours a day if a baby was sick. She was a champion and I loved her.

Aunt Dolores was and is an inspiration to me. I think my earliest story of her was from the time I was a toddler, when I met her and promptly threw myself onto the ground and cried. Aunt Dolores then fell to the ground and began wailing as well, which immediately stopped my crying. In more recent years, she was so proud of me for becoming an attorney. She was one of the first women in a male-dominated field, and I know I owe her a debt for her trailblazing that I will never be able to...

She was a real trailblazer and perhaps Tulia’s greatest product. I was, we all were, so proud of her, proud to have been from the same small town. One of my memories of her is at Baylor hospital on April 15, 1979. My wife was coming out of delivery and Deloris was walking by with her neonatal class. She stopped to have her class examine our son, a rather large baby boy. She commented that if he grew to his feet, he would be a big guy. My wife, still woozy, snapped at the good doctor,...
