Dolores Kaczmarczyk

In Miss Kaczmarczyk's 9th grade English class at St David's High School (1959-1960) I remember her introducing us to 'The Canterbury Tales' and to Shakespeare. I always enjoyed her English classes and wish that she had been my English teacher for the whole of my four years at St David's.

I myself taught here in England for 40 years, from 1969 until 2009, 36 of those years spent teaching in London secondary schools. I can honestly say that I was inspired to be a teacher by two teachers, a lay teacher who taught me when I was in the third and sixth grades and by Miss Kaczmarczyk. I attended St David's High School from 1959 until 1963. Miss Kaczmarczyk was my Form Tutor for three years, my History teacher for two years and my English teacher for one year. I think that she was a particularly outstanding English teacher. I myself went on to take a Masters degree in English.
