I met Dodo at the Grave Vine Lounge. She was one of the nicest person I've ever met.

I first met Ms. Nastoff when she was one of the lovely, elegant waitresses on staff at the Grape Vine Lounge in Calumet City in the 1970s. People would come from miles around to here the authentic, in-house jazz trio, and Dodo was there to great them and make their experience as memorable as possible. When I caught up with her many years later, she had opened Dodo's Firehouse Tap on Conkey Street in Hammond and was the same warm, gregarious, caring woman I had first met decades before. I have...

Dodo my friend, I am so lucky to have had you in my life. I miss you so much already. Your heart was as big as a mountain. You truly were a fighter. Every time you were in the hospital, and we thought you were down for the count, you'd come back swinging. Rest well my friend, until we meet again. Jesus, in your holy name, wrap your arms around Dodo and keep her close. She will be an amazing angel! Like she was here on earth. Amen. RIP my friend.
