Frances, although I left for Alabama soon after I married, over 51 years ago, I took with me many wonderful memories of Dom. I am so very sorry to hear of his death, but after reading of his accomplishments, I feel that he has made a great many differences for good. This is so much to cherish! You have my thoughts, love and prayers for Dom, you and the family! Love, Sylvia Sicari Helms.

You're one of the best mentors a person could have. I'll miss you.

I am so sad we lost Dom after his long and valiant fight. He was a renowned educator, but excelled in so many other areas of his life ss well. I will always remember the energy, support and enthusiasm he lent my husband in the development of his Italian heritage organization . He was always there and full of ideas. My thoughts are with his family. Rosemarie Sergi

I am deeply saddened by the passing of my dear friend & colleague of more than 50 years, Dom Amara. I collaborated with him on many of his various projects. Whether it was developing an ESL curriculum & teacher professional development for the NAD School in Guinea, the infusion of Italian Language & Culture programs in various schools, or the promotion of his Italian heritage, in the word "impossible" Dom only saw "possible!" My deepest condolences to his wife Frances, his family & relatives....

His contributions, curiosity, and zest for life were nothing short of remarkable. I am so proud to have been his friend, partner, and occasional fellow traveler. He contributed so much to United Planet and joined many of our global programs. Troy and Tristan were proud students at Warren Prescott. We all send our thoughts, prayers, and...
