Dominic Cianchetti, Age 75, Retired Firefighter for Chicago Heights for almost 30 years, Veteran of the US Army 101st Airborne, passed away January 1, 2012. Beloved husband of 49 years to Barbara. Cherished father of Kathy (Art) Follenweider, Lauri (Doug) Beaner, and Pam (Tim) Antonelli. Proud Grandfather to Ashley, Concenzio, Alexa, Dominique, and Antonio. Caring brother to David and Loretta Cameli. Devoted Catholic family man with a kind heart and strong mind will be missed by his loving family and many friends. Visitation Wednesday January 4th from 3:00 – 9:00 pm at Steger Memorial Chapel - Smits Funeral Homes, 3045 Chicago Road, Steger. Funeral Mass Thursday 10:00 am at St. Paul Church - 206 E. 25th St in Chicago Heights. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Paul Church in his honor. I am very sorry for your loss. Dom was as strong as a ox and had a heart as big as a elephant, and such a well respected man and Fire Fighter. He truly will be missed by everyone who ever met him.
