Not sure what to say?

Rest in peace, Don. You kept the Bebop flame alive everywhere you went and for that we will always be grateful to you. Thank you for the great stage memories.

Pascal Bokar

Don, so many fond memories of playing with you and the times we had together when you lived in San Diego, all too briefly. You were one of the truly talented people that I had the pleasure of having you as a friend.

Cypress Club

Don played at the Cypress Club in San Francisco where I was the owner. Listening to him play Night in Tunisia' while I was working the room is one of my sweetest memories of that time. Don is one of the kindest most talented, humble, upbeat persons I ever met.I am grateful to have known him.

Don, I'm so sorry I knew you for only such a short time. I appreciated your lively mind and spirit. No wonder my cousin, Juliette, married you. Rest in peace

Don, I am privileged to have played jazz with you, to know you, and to read some of your books. You will be missed.

I will miss Don's smile and warm greeting whenever he entered Peet's Café in Millbrae.
Everyone who knew him there, and he had many friends among the staff and customers, enjoyed his presence. As poets, we shared the joys and challenges of our profession. He was a true gentle-man, fine poet, excellent musician, devoted to his family and friends. May his spirit keep us company on Life's journey. With a bow of thanks to the Spirit who brought Don into our lives.
