Don was a great neighbor and a great friend. We had many enlightening conversations and he love it when we brought him dinners from the Angus Barn. He will be missed and we rejoice in his presence with the Lord.

I am so sad to hear this news. I was the volunteer coordinator at NCCIW for years, and Mr. Bickel was a wonderful volunteer. He helped so many young women reach their potential, and his kindness was legendary. We all looked forward to seeing him when he arrived because he was able to brighten even the darkest of places. What a kind a heart; what a special man. The world is a better place because he was in it. My thoughts are with his family because I know how much he will be missed.

Until one day my dearest friend, David Leland introduced me to Don and Betty Bickel. I was welcomed into their lives in the grandest manner and embarked on one of the greatest adventures of my life. And now about 30 years later, this past summer, David and I spent an enormously gracious...
