DON COE Carlos Donald "Don" Coe, age 77 of Windfall, passed away on Oct. 17, 2023, at Ball Hospital-I.U. Health in Muncie after an extended illness. He was born Feb. 24, 1946, in Elwood, the son of Norval C. and Wanda F. (Niccum) Coe. Don attended Elwood schools and later enlisted in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War, and he was present in Vietnam during the war. Don married Judith Ann Edwards on Aug. 11, 1976, and they shared 39 years together before her passing in 2016. He was the owner of CD Construction for 27 years and retired from his business in 1991. Don was a life-member of the Elwood V.F.W. Post 5782 in Elwood and enjoyed fellowship with his friends at the post. He enjoyed fishing, guns, and canning vegetables from their garden with Judy. Don also enjoyed watching westerns, tinkering with anything he could get his hands on, and especially spending time with friends and family. Don's family includes 2 children, Carlos Donald (wife Roxanne) Coe, Jr. of Anderson and Terri Lynette Jimenez of California; 4 stepchildren, Sandy (husband Rich) Rebich of Michigan City, Sheri Daily of Michigan City, Laura Ball of Three Oaks, MI, and Brian Edwards of Elwood; sister, Ramona Morrison of Lafayette; brother-in-law, Donald Christian of Elwood; 19 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judith Ann Coe; daughter, Tracy Coe; stepdaughter, Kimberly Sue Roeder; grandson, Jeffrey Justin Ball; 7 siblings, Charles "Bud" Coe, Tom Coe, Barbara Johnson, Delores Watson, Diana Christian, Ronnie Kay Kelly, and Wanda Coe. Don's wishes were to be cremated and his ashes will be buried in Phlox Cemetery in November of 2023. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Marines and Elwood V.F.W. honor guard teams at that time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elwood V.F.W.
