Reverend Don Flickinger

Fr Don was my good friend growing up on the Monterey Peninsula. I still remember smiling at his many letters comparing the virtues of Cal vs Stanford. My last correspondence was when he sent me reminiscences of his mother whomI loved. God take good care of him.

Since high school in 1952/53 until recent times, Father Don was a dear friend. His mother was a beautiful woman.

Don was my second cousin. He was always kind and caring toward me and my family. We shared a love of zoology, art, Shakespeare and nature, as well as a complicated relationship to our ancestors. I hope that he has found peace. Here he is in 1956 with his uncle Hal (my grandfather), me and my mother Laurie.

Fr. Don was a friend from my earliest days in ministry and remained so until his passing.

Father Don said Mass many time in our house. He was a joy to have visit us. May he rest in peace.

I have cherished memories of my loving cousin's celebrating Mass in my home, and his letter-writing exchanges through the years. i made an audio recording of him as well. Grant my cousin, Father Don, eternal rest and glory, and let perpetual light shine upon him. Cousin Joan Marie
