Not sure what to say?

I worked with Don back in the 70s at KNTV. He was the consummate professional, yet he had a terrific sense of humor (and the best "pipes" in the business.) We reconnected through his charitable work with the Elks, and his passing comes as a great shock. All the best to Darla and the family.

Dear Hayward Family,
As a native of Santa Cruz, growing
up with TV News, I remember Don

Don was a very kind and giving person with a wonderful sense of humor. He'll be missed in the SJSU community and throughout the South Bay.

While working with Capitola PD I use to see Don taking his morning walk. I would pull over and talk to him about politics, sports current events. He always gave me a wave and a smile and made my day brighter. Thanks Don.

Alive in our memories. Remembered in our hearts. As much a part of Santa Cruz history as the Boardwalk.

May Don's family find peace and comfort in their loss, today, tomorrow and all the days that follow.
