Don LEGER

Many of us at Parks have just learned about Don's passing this morning. We will miss him greatly. He was a wonderful part of our daily lives here at Parks Canada and his wonderful smiles and greetings were a joy at the start of every work day. I'd like to offer my sincere condolences. My thoughts are with his family at this sad time.

I worked with Don at CFRA as a young newsman in the 1960s ! That's how far back this great veteran pro Don went at CFRA. Great voice. Great guy. It was great to know you Don.

Although not in the News area, I worked with Don for many years at CFRA. Don was an exceptional journalist and talented broadcaster – a true professional with a most likeable and engaging personality. My sincerest condolences to Betty and family at this time. Sorry to hear of Don's passing. Many good memories of him as a former colleague and mentor. I know he'll be missed by many.

Don was a good old fashioned "newsman" in the truest sense of the word. He enjoyed what he did, he was an excellent boss and colleague, and he had better inside contacts with police sources than anyone I've ever seen. Don brought me on board as a highschool kid and remained a source of encouragement to the present day.
