Not sure what to say?

When I was 11 or twelve years old Don Lind stayed a night at our modest Reno Nevada home. My father organized a LDS youth conference and invited Don to speak to a fairly large group. Don surprisingly agreed and delivered a inspiring presentation. Early the next morning, in the rush to get our guest to the airport Don asked me to get my bike and a length of string which I quickly did. Then there on the sidewalk with the string around a pedal of a bike he demonstrated to a clueless kid the...

Had the honor of meeting Dr. Lind and other astronauts at a space event in Pasadena, CA. He was very friendly and approachable for greetings and autographs. (Unlike Neil Armstrong who I saw at a Apollo anniversary celebration and sneaked out the back door to avoid meeting us.) What a great, adventurous, exciting long life he was blessed with. and autographs.

I attended Portland State University back in the late 1990s with his son Dan. I used to stay overnight with Dan at Don's home in Lake Oswego, Oregon when he lived near the temple. He was so unpretentious and he talked about his missions like someone just doing a routine job on earth. Very humble man good memories even 30 years later.

Don was a member of our Ward when he lived in Concord Ca. I remember him as being kind and unpretentious, given his accomplishments and status. I was only a kid ( am 72 now) and held him up as a true hero. After all those years, it is great to read of his long and rewarding life. Could not have happened to a nicer guy. I´d like to think he is now unlocking all the celestial mysteries he explored throughout his life.

Bro. Lind was our home teacher for years when we lived in Smithfield. Our kids loved to listen to his stories and especially loved it when he wore his moonrock tie! He helped our kids with history fair projects and spoke at several school events for the kids. He was a great mentor and friend and will be so very missed!

I have so many, many special memories of Don, Kathleen and his whole wonderful family, starting with his mom and dad. Elizabeth was my beloved 4-H teacher for 12 years. Although Don was out of the home by then, he was always there with us in his adventures. I have many special memories, but here is one that shows how generous he was with his time. I was newly married and was Primary President in Concord California. For summer Primary, the theme was Modern Day Pioneers. I thought wouldn't it...

I never knew Don personally, but as a fellow Beetdigger, we all loved and respected him. Rest in peace Don

I have many fond memories of Don and all of the Lind family from our years in Texas. My love is extended to all of you at this special time. Dave Rasmussen
