Not sure what to say?

I'll miss my big brother. He teased me incessantly when we were young. He also painted my bedroom a pretty yellow with white trim. One day he let me drive his 1956 Chevy to school when I was only 12 years old. Such a thrill to pull up in front of Matilija Jr. High with all the other kids watching.
Later, there was dating advice and the terrifying ride on the back of his motorcycle!
I'll always cherish these fun memories as well as
those very special ones of our last visits. ...

dearest don- you were many things in my life. a brother, father figure, & loyal friend. like our dad-you were a man of few words. when you did speak-the words had great meaning. when I was young you told me "donna, as you go through life-you will find that those you thought were friends were only aquaintences." and later you said "you cant be everything to everybody." I know you told me those things because you could see that I wore my heart on my sleeve. you were so wise. I did not...

All great things come to an end.My Uncle Don was one of those things.A good person, a loving husband, Father, grandfather and a person who loved the Lord.To me he was like a older brother who I looked up to at a time in my life when I needed someone to look up to.He was in my life when things in Ventura County were still good and it was fun to be alive.Fun things to do, went to Pop Sopers, Ojala, Matillija,Lions Camp,Rose Valley on and on.This is end of an era when great things come to an...

Uncle Don,
I remember the time when we came over to your house and had lunch with you. It was so fun when we had Subway, Cream Soda, Chips, And of course ice cream. You are now in gods spirit and he will take you under his wing. God took you for a reason. That reason was for Belief. You believed and he accepted. We love you Uncle Don and will really miss you.

Uncle Don, I loved you so much and you were our best fiend, the one we would always go to when we needed Prayer. After my Bob died you were the one I called to come get the lizards out of my bedroom. When I got crazy you would take me home to my Sister and keep me there . Loved it when we had Tri-Tip and avacado Burritos. You were Lynn's best friend and he will miss you lots. We just got started and was sad that it was over. Don, always had to be able to see my Sister and when we would...

Uncle Don (or as Grandpa Roddick called him "Dan") - will forever be in my heart as the best of an era.
That era was so warm, it was a time when family was just that, family....there was no "immediate", or "extended", or for the love of God "first, second" etc. It was just FAMILY.

In this day and age, everything seems to need be further defined. Well I just can't, I won't, he was my Uncle Don, period, I shan't go into the intricacies of it all. His sense of humor can never be...

Sorry to hear about Don, will miss him. My prayers are with you him and Elaine Rick Suddes
