Not sure what to say?

I am super disappointed to hear this. I saw Don play hockey for Jefferson when I lettered for Anoka as a sophmore at Met Center and finally met him when I went to Normandale where we both played intramural hockey together. We also went to a few North Star games together. When I first met him he took me down to a frozen lake that was as smooth as a mirror. He was shocked how fast and good of a skater I was. Don was as good as Mark Messier and I know because Joel Otto was on my summer...

It's been a while, but today's fishing opening day brought back many memories of Donnie. We spent 5-6 opening days together in the 1980's and they were lots of fun. He is missed.

I still miss him after many years. He taught me how to play battleship. We had many fun years hunting and fishing up north. Very sad to lose my only brother.

Friends and Family,

I was shocked and sad to hear of Don's death. I haven't seen Don in many years but was fortunate enough to play hockey with him in Grand Forks, ND. The Don I remember was a great hockey player and a friend to all that played with him. My favorite memory of Don was winning the North Dakota High School Hockey Tournament. It wasn't Minnesota, But Don Didn't care. He was a champion then and always will be with me. My thoughts and prayers are with all of Don's...

Don

Jack, Jean, family and friends,

The Don I remember was smart, funny, talented and dedicated. He was a natural athlete and had the guts to go with it. It doesn't seem that long ago that Don, Tony, Dave, Emmit and I were riding our ten speeds all over the place and lifting weights in Don's basement. He was a fierce opponent and a loyal friend.
He was and is a special "character" and will never be forgotten!
