Not sure what to say?

We will miss Irving everyday until we meet him again. Our hearts still ache to hear his stories and just feel safe knowing he was near by. This man was absolutely the salt of the earth.
We love you dear friend.

Dear Lessie and family,

I am so sorry for your loss. I know my father is saddened by the loss of a very dear and old friend. I remember well a picnic at White Sands with the Bailey's and how amazed I was when Irving cleaned his cowboy hat with the gypsum sand. I last saw Irving at my mother's Memorial service and was very grateful for his presence.

Bill and I offer our sincere condolences,

I was in the presence of a true gentleman cowboy when I visited with Mr. Porter. My heart is with you, Mrs. Porter and your daughters, and my prayers with Mr. Porter. May he rest in peace...

Dearest Lessie, Toni, Cindy and family...on this 28th day of September 2010, my heart still feels the loss of my "Hawaiian" dancing partner, Irv. My sons, Mike and Victor and I will never fill the void left in our hearts with Irving gone. I admire the strength and courage that you all had during Irving's illness and especially upon his death. Even then, you were there for us as you have always been. Irv was special in every way to me and my family and just knowing you all were there, gave...

I was saddened to read about Irving`s passing. I looked forward to his annual buck buying trip when he would, tell how he and my Uncle Hugh Kincaid "whipped the Germans in WW2", brag on our bucks, and fill us in on the latest Pinon news. He was a special character and his was a special generation. We are all diminished with his passing.

Dear Lessie.Toni and my old friend Cindy:

I must tell you all what a privilege it was to be with you all up in Pinon. The gentle rain that came down . Irv would have loved it. The cattle we could see grazing from the cemetary. The wonderful beautiful music that brought tears to my eyes.
The memories I had as a child that came flooding back to me. The absolute freedom I felt up in those mountains when I was child. Cindy and I driving all over the mesa in the jeep at 8...

The World has lost another great man, they simply don't make 'em like Irv anymore. He was tough as nails and as genuine as a handshake. His impact on his family, friends, and southern New Mexico culture will be greatly missed. My family and I wish Big Mom and family our best.

Cindy and Family- I am sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Mr. Porter,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served with the U.S. Army in Europe fighting the Germans during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
