Not sure what to say?

Dr. Read was my physician in the 1990s. He was a kind and compassionate man, and his bedside-manner both put me at ease as a person with an impending surgery, and instilled confidence in me as the patient of this gifted clinician. He was one of the people you can tell was born to be a physician. We patients were lucky to have had him and he will be missed. Robert White

Dr. Read was my surgeon in 1989. He told me I had to have surgery because of Crohn's disease. I told him no. A few weeks later I was in the emergency room again. When he walked I said ok but I have to wait two weeks. He didn't agree naturally but I waited and then had the surgery. Fran, who was his nurse told me she never...

I just learned of Dr. Don Read's passing this past week. It saddened me. He was an outstanding man and doctor. May our Lord Jesus Christ bring peace and comfort to his wife, girls and all the family.

What a wonderful, kind man and a great doctor. I trusted him with my life.

Thank you Dr. Read for the my past 23 years of life. I will always remember the day you said "I am pronouncing you cured". You are missed by many. Pam

Don was a great friend going back to our days at Cook County Hospital. He was a year my senior so I got to know him as a teacher and surgeon. He and Roberta were the picture of a perfect couple. He was a great human as you can read above. He will be missed by many but never forgotten
