RIFE, Don 1912-2008

The life of Don Rife has passed. Although every man dies, few really live. Don Rife was one of those few.

Not sure what to say?

I was so sad to see Don had passed away. He was a charming person throughout his life. I remember living across the street from him, Clara and Bobbie and Bobbie's grandparents about 50 years ago when Bobbie and I were kids. I, also, remember the excitement when Don would take us to Breitenbush to go fishing! My Mom (Jo Remillard Cox) and I (Vicki Remillard Gray) want to extend our sincere sympathies. He's the perfect angel!

We are so sad to hear about your dad. Although we didn't know your dad well, our thoughts and prayers are for you in your time of grief.
We are sure he will extremely missed.

So sorry to hear about the death of Don. In the 1950's three buddies and myself decided we needed some car parts located in a wrecking yard in Oregon City. Unfortunately, we were caught and taken to the Oregon City jail. I called Don who was my Sunday school teacher at Sellwood Methodist Church and he was gracious enough to come and bail us out. He never told my parents and I will never forget his act of kindness. A very gentle and compassionate man.

Your dad was certainly an amazing man. I found him to be interesting and enjoyable to be around. He is a man who will be missed by many and he will always remain a model for me in many ways. He obviously lived life to the fullest, a goal for me to strive for. I will miss him along with you.

I remember going to Don's store I think on canyon road somewhere. He gave free lessons on the Organ. He wouold not not talk sales at that time. That was his relaxation. He was a wonderful man.

I am so sorry to hear about Don. I only met him a few times but will always remember such a nice man.

I enjoyed reading about Don's life today. I often read about people's lives on Sundays and think about my grandparents. Don sounds like he was a special person. Reading about him was inspiring.
my symphathy,

My sincerest condolences at the death of your father. I really enjoyed the times I spent with him. He will be missed.

Seattles Best Coffee will always remember all of Don's smiles and hugs. We miss him dearly-and have his Army picture in our backroom to remember him by.
