Don Edwin Shannon

Mr. Shannon was a great teacher. I had the pleasure of being a student of his in the 80's and found him to be a warm, intelligent caring teacher who actually took an interest in his students and made them better people thru his classes. He will be missed.

Don was a gentleman and a good friend, always cheerful and engaging. He will be missed. I am sorry to have missed his "wake," but I am sure those who were there did justice to Don's memory.

Don was one of a kind, a very compassionate man with a very big heart. We shared decades of adventures together at his home and ours, in Mexico and in Central America, and even his final years at Country Villa. He was one of my closest friends and I will always miss him. Adios, mi amigo. Amigos para Siempre!

I was so very dismayed to read about Don's death. I remember a group of us going to his home every Wednesday evening, (in the mid to late '70s), to play and sing bluegrass and Irish folk songs. Don shines as a bright and beloved memory of my youth. Thank you, Don and Doris, for your warm hospitality and loving spirit.
