Not sure what to say?

I met Don when my husband worked for 104.1 The Ranch. Chuck McKinley and I sat across from him at Rick's one Friday night. Such an endearing man...He was warm, funny and kept us laughing all evening. He was there when radio was fun.

You have a new audience now, Don. Well, that's not completely true. We have others in our radio family that moved up before you. Keep them laughing. We love you...

Sorry to hear about Don's death. My deepest sympathy to his family. Don really knew the broadcasting business and was a very nice person as well.

I met this wonderful man back in 1966 when I was Program Director for WMFJ Radio, Don and I had some great times together and when he moved to Texas we stayed in touch by phone and emails. Don,I will miss you greatly,

Don, was a great guy and had a mood building joke for everyone. He will be missed in the broadcast arena & civic projects.

During high school, daughter Lana and I were friends and I remember visiting the Skylar's home and seeing the love between her parents and the pride they felt towards their kids. Mr. Skylar had the best laugh and was a joyful larger-than-life presence. I know he is deeply missed by his precious family. Lana, I am so sorry for the loss of your Dad. He was so immensely proud of you, you could see it in his face when you sang. It was an honor to have met your dad. You are all in my...

I often tell friends Don Skylar "discovered" me. In the summer of 1967, Don came into Quality Courts International in Ormond Beach, FL, to see a friend of his who was working the front desk with me. I told Don I was a broadcasting major at the University of Florida. Don told me his station WMFJ needed an overnight disc jockey ASAP. I went to WMFJ and program director John Holiday hired me for my first paid broadcasting job. Thanks, Don. Rest in peace. My sincere condolences to Don's family.

.. .. .. Rest In Peace, Don. You will be missed. Sincerest sympathies to your beloved family and many friends from your Filipino buddy in Tyler.

I knew Don back in the early and mid sixties. Don was with WMFJ (a local Daytona Beach radio station) and I was going to Mainland High School. I won a 45rpm record over the radio and had the pleasure of meeting Don when I went to pick it up at the station. I was fascinated by radio broadcasting at the time and spent a lot of my spare time hanging out at the radio station and Don became like an older brother to me. My initials were T C and he nicked named me Top Cat after a cartoon...
