Not sure what to say?

Coach was the best. I was an average player but he always treated me with respect. After we lost our state bid in 1960 we had only 3 players with any experience. Our record became the mirror image of the year before. I was always sorry I could not be better for Coach. I will miss him.

Thinking of you and praying for your wonderful family.
From: Rick and Lisa Brown--your neighbors and friends.

In 1968, the first class I had at Northwest Classen, was Oklahoma History Don VanPool was my teacher in a classroom under the bleachers at Northwest. I remember very well current events, I gave the sports report form weekend football activity.
Coach said to me, what in the world are you talking about. Current events, sports cannot be considered current events. Never gave another sports score. In my four years at Northwest Classen, I remember someone who cared about his students. My life...

Coach VanPool was my Oklahoma History teacher in the early sixties. His sense of humor and honesty were wonderfully welcome attributes in the life of a 14 year old girl who had NO clue of "life" and it's many challenges. I will always remember Mr. VanPool as a very sweet man.

I played for coach Van Pool at Moore from 73-76. He was tough coach and I became a better player because of him. His family and close friends are in my thoughts and prayers.

Ì had the pleasure of playing for DVP my Senior and only year 65-66. He was a fair and strict coach who really cared about his team and his players. I enjoyed the NWC basketball experience because of this fine man who gave me a chance. RIP Daddy Don Van Pool.

Coach VanPool was an excellent role model for all students who knew him and loved by many. He was a blessing to me from 1964-1968 at NWC. My prayers are with his family and close friends during this time of loss.

Coach, thank you for all you did for us at Northwest Classen. It was a pleasure to know you and be around you (most of the time). I don't know where you got the patience to put up with all of us teenagers in the 50s & 60s, but lucky for us you did.

Coach VanPool was a great leader when I went to Crooked Oak High. He coached our basketball team and assisted on the football coaching. Our teams thought very highly of him.
