Not sure what to say?

I remember how funny Mr Womble was. Of all the physical ed teachers, he was the best! He was approachable and understanding. Unlike another "coach" I will not name. I left California right out of high school to join the Army and never returned to Lodi. For some reason I was thinking about influential people in my life. Mr Womble was one of the first who came to mind. I can't believe he's been gone for 15 years.

I graduated in 1987 and Mr. Womble was my p.e. teacher and one of my favorite teachers. He always cheered me on and truly wanted his students to be the best they could be. I had so much fun in his class. My sympathy to his family. RIP Mr. Womble. You were what all educators should strive to be.

I was very fortunate to have Mr Womble as by 8th grade teacher (56). I'm so sorry for your loss. I talked to Mr Womble last summer and told him we were trying to get a Houston Reunion next year and he was so excited. It would be an honor if you would attend. I will be in touch later. He will be missed by all.

Dearest Track Coach Womble, I have so many fond memories of you as one of my best coaches. You had passion, discipline, and respect for the sport and young athletes. There is not a run I go on and not think of you encouraging the "flame" in me to achieve my best! Coach Womble has been with me in thoughts from 5k's to an ironman triathlon. I would not be the healthy active adult today without your leadership. You will always be loved and your Flame will be with all lives you have ignited.

Lou and family! How heartwarming to read all these sentiments about Bompa! He was special! You will always be surrounded by his love! I am sorry for the ache you all feel!

Don was a wonderful proponent of girls sports for many years. I remember telling him how in the 70s I had to run cross country with the boys and how I had to go to the school board to get a girls track team going. Don was always super fun to be around and always so excited about everything in life. I recall us sitting in a condo in Palm Springs and everyone cell phoning eachother from across the couch. Lou loved Don so much and took such great care of him.

Dear Womble Family, I loved Mr. Womble as I love and cherish your entire family. He will be with us forever through all the amazingly positive influences he had on so many people, including me. Hugs and love to you all.

Lou and family, you are in our thoughts and prayers. We are so sorry for your loss and grieve his passing. We are all so grateful for having his life cross ours. Thank you Lou, thank you Don!
