Salem - Dona Maxine Chapman, 78 died Wednesday, April 27th at Salem Hospital. Dona was born on June 28, 1937 in Pasadena, California to parents Donald and Olive Knowles Adams Chapman. She spent her working career as a Teacher of the Deaf and as a Media Specialist. Ever the adventurous spirit, in her leisure time, she enjoyed hot air ballooning and logged 25 flights after her retirement.
Dona is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Linda. She is survived by her sister, Lona (Art) Newman; 1 niece; 3 nephews; 2 great-nieces and 2 great-nephews. A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Dona's name to a charity of your choice. Assisting the family is Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.

I already miss you so much. You have been a great friend. You have greatly enriched my life.....you were one of my very best friends and I love you so much. You were the most loving person and had the kindest soul. You never missed an opportunity to help those in need. You were the most inspirational woman I have ever had the honor of knowing.
