Donald “Don” Guy Cochran, 83, of Burkburnett, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2024.

Don was born on July 2, 1941 to Roy and Cleo Patra (Boyles) Cochran in Belington, West Virginia, Don dedicated his life to service and country. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1959 and served with distinction for nearly two decades. He worked as a Senior Technical Writer and Technical Publications Supervisor at Baker International, a Customer Support Manager at GH Bear, a Technical Writer at Johnson Control, a Senior Technical Writer at Fujitsu America, and a Product Engineer at ABB Control.

In his later years, Don continued to give back to the community. He volunteered for the 82nd Training Wing Retiree Activities Office at Sheppard AFB, Texas and was recognized as the Volunteer of the Year for 2010.

Not sure what to say?

We met Don and Louise in 2014 as we traveled to Texas as part of our Cochran yDNA Project. It was an eventful meeting and a fine opportunity to meet such nice people. Don and I are cousins and share a common gr grandfather: James M Cochran(1849-1897). Don was a person I will not soon forget.

So sorry for your loss.

Louise, we are so very sorry to hear about Don. We are thinking about you and your family and sending prayers that you find comfort in knowing so many care about you and your family.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Louise, Heather and Brian, my prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Thank you for military service
