It´s hard to believe it´s been 10 years since we lost Donnie. His legacy, personally & athletically, will live on. In 2021 I visited the Finger Lakes & went to Hobart specifically to see their Sports Hall of Fame, of which Donnie is a member. It was nice to see his remembrances.

After being cut by the'73 Redskins, I played with Donnie on the Albany Metro Maulers. Along with being the "smoothest" running back I ever saw at any level(I compare his instincts to Russell Wilson who went to my high school),he was also a great guy who didn't take himself or his great talent anywhere near an ego trip. I played against number 43 when I was a defensive back at Hamilton College..
Toughest guy I ever saw on a football field..I'll never forget he was knocked out of bounds on a sweep on our sideline after a long gain.
He picked himself up walked over to Coach Don Jones smiled and winked at him..
Coach could only break out in a smile..

I was really saddened to hear about Donnie's passing. He was a great friend and baseball teammate & buddy during our days at East High. Unfortunately we lost touch during our college days, but I did follow his “A to Z” exploits at Hobart. I send sincere condolences from my brother Jerry and I to Billy & Ron.
