Not sure what to say?

Came online to find Joan and sadly came upon Don's obit. I'm remembering a beautiful dinner at your home with you and Don many, many years ago. It's a beautiful thing that he could be home with you until the end. May the Lord bring you, Kim and Heather comfort in the days ahead. You're in my thoughts and prayers.........Bev

Mr. Barta had a calmness and peacefulness that, when in his presence, made you feel that the world was slowing down to just the right speed, and everything would turn out just fine, even the difficult things. I am thankful that he is a part of my memories and I send my condolences to his family.

What a true joy to be neighbors with this family! Watching Don tend to the house and yard right up until the end is a true inspiration. He really is one of the most kind and gentle men I’ve ever met. We will miss him and his warm smile. We are very lucky to know and live next to this very special family!

Don Barta was a friend like no other. He had class and a strong sense of ethics, decency, and justice. He was helpful and showed kindness with no expectation of reward. Multitalented that he was, our family benefited from his generosity in wonderful projects he and Joan undertook, from preparing delectable Thanksgiving meals to designing a stunning Japanese garden.
We enjoyed his sense of humor that was never unkind or at the expense of another. As an educator, he saw the miraculous in...

Mr. Barta taught me almost 60 years ago at Thora B. He gave me incredible attention and helped me master photography. During summer vacation, he left a window unlocked so I could slip in and use the darkroom. Quite a guy.

I was a student in the 7th grade at Thora B. Mr. Barta was the teacher. He taught us about building in wood, metal, and plastics. We got to use all kind of tools and machines. I remember he was so very easy to talk to. I really learned alot from him. Just the other day while using my drill press, I thought of him and lessons learned. I loved his red MG, and yes we all new about him and Miss Garcia. I'm glad you met and hard a great life together. I am sorry sorry for your loss. ...

Joan, Kim and Heather: I am so sorry for your loss. I hope all of your wonderful memories of Don lessen your grief during this hard time.

Don was a gentle friend whose talent encouraged many, esp his wife and children. A home built with his own hands was a home of security and love.
He will be greatly missed and the memories will be sweet.
