Not sure what to say?

Don was truly a remarkable and talented man. I first met him in 1962 when he asked me to play the piano for a television show featuring the Mermaids in the Rainmaker Court (I think this is the correct court) A couple of the Mermaids were Portland State Students as was I. He was an absolute gentleman and a kinder person I have never met. My memories of him are fond and I'll never forget him.

My thoughts and prayers to the family of Donald Bassist. As a graduate of Bassist College I have fond memories of Mr. Bassist, Norma, and their dog Tan.

Jennifer Kulle-Jones & M. Jason Jones. Love and prayers to your family during this time.

Mr. Bassist (as I knew him), gave me my first teaching position at the college level. I taught at Bassist Institute and then Bassist College for seven years in the 1980's. I have continued my teaching and now am a full professor of Fashion at Mesa College in San Diego, CA. I remember Donald for his love of the fine things and his finesse. My thoughts and regards to Matthew and Robs and family.

Larry and I are so sorry to read of Donald's passing. We go back with Norma and Donald a long ways..probably to the 60's.
Memories
Donald and I acted together..most memorable at the Hilton in Clerambard for Rosaria repertory under the direction of Paul Ouellette.
We were close personal friends...Christmas eves at our house (the only guests allowed to bring their dog too), France independence day in the summer and New Years Day at their house. 4th of July at our home, where...

We are thinking of you and remembering Don (and Norma and the boys) as patients but more importantly friends of Norris and Kae Perkins. So sorry for your loss, and so sorry not to be there.
love, Carolyn Perkins McKinney

Blessings to the Bassist family. As a graduate of the Bassist Institute & remember Donald well.

I worked for Donald and Norma in Portland back in the 1960's and always had fond memories of both of them. They both were absolutely delightful people and employers. I am sorry that in my return visits to Portland over the years that I didn't make it a point to see them. My loss!! Thank you Donald and Norma for all that you taught me and I hope I have the opportunity to meet Matt, Krystin and family one day.
