Not sure what to say?

Olga,
I just came across a copy of a promotional flyer for radio station WERE, circa late 1950's, showing Don sliding down a fire pole as one of the station's "8-alarm newsroom crew". He was 29, says the blurb, and "a news veteran who has worked the gamut of news assignments from the foot-wearying police beat to the hot wire slot at an International News Service desk. He has unearthed more news in the past year than all other local newsmen could move with a shovel..."...

Goodbye, old friend. Oh how we will miss you--60 plus years is a long time--from teenagers to our 80's. You were indeed a loose cannon, but that is made you so lovable.Never met any of your family that you were so proud, but my heartfelt sympathy goes to them. Yes, life is beautiful thanks to you. Norrene and Bob Vogt washington, D.C.

Don meeting the grandaughter & great-grandson of his late cousin, Charles King.(at Fran King's 90th Birthday)

Dear Olga and Family, I want to apologize for posting an incorrect picture from my mom's 90th party;I'm not very computer savvy, and made an error. This new pic shows Don meeting my daughter,& she asked him for hints about writing stories, which he gladly discussed! We will all miss him so much !! Love, Barb (King) Hutchinson

Dear Olga and Family.
I was so sad to hear about Don. Our families go back a long way. We always kept in touch, and sure will miss his contagious laugh. He always had a joke to tell, and he would laugh more than anyone else.

When my sister Norrene, and brother in law, Bob Vogt came to visit we would always meet at Yours Truly for lunch.
I have to say we livened up the place.
The servers would come over and say that we had them laughing also, because we were having...

Dear Olga and Family, I just heard the sad news about Don, and cannot believe he is gone - My dad, Charles King, was a first cousin to Don, Paul, and the other Bean brothers, and I know that they were all close growing up and had some great times together. Our mom & dad would take us (7 kids) up to visit the Bean family , and we have some wonderful memories of family picnics in the back yard!
We were honored and blessed to have Don and his brother ,Paul , attend our mom's 90th...

Now Don can look down on us and say "Ain't Heaven beautiful !!!" I thank you for being a friend

Don was a friend, a co-worker, a Hall-of-Famer and a wonderful human being. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Bean family at this difficult time. In loving memory of this wonderful person. We have fond memories of high school years and Northfield Village Reunions.

While I never knew Don personally, my thoughts and prayers are with the family, those cousins that time and distance have drawn apart, but that familial lines hold dear.
