Funeral services will be held on Don Beard Field at Terrell Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday April 16 2017. A committal service will be held at Park Hill Cemetery in Columbus at 2:00 p.m. on Monday April 17 2017. A visitation will be held at Harvey Funeral Home in Dawson on Saturday April 15 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Linda and Natalie, I was so very sorry to learn about Don. Just found out today and so sorry that I missed seeing you at the service. He was a lovely man who I know will be remembered for his extreme gentleness and compassion. That's how I remember him. My most fervent prayers and the blessings of Gods love go with you now and in the days to come.

I will never forget Coach Beard. He coached me when I was young and my family was going through a lot with Dad sick and business collapsing into chaos. He set an fine example. I recall attending the 20th reunion of the class of '79 and Coach walked in, spotted me and said, "Howard, get on the bus!" just like that tardy incident had happened a month back, not 22 years before.
