Not sure what to say?

Some 20 years ago, when still living in San Luis Obispo, I had several interviews with Jim McGrath regarding his near unbelievable experiences during World War II as a U.S. Naval officer in the Philippines and his subsequent Japanese POW. During those interviews, I learned that Jim's wife, Eleanor, was related to Don Bovee of San Luis Obispo HighSchool. May Don's soul rest in eternal peace.

Don was a classmate and good friend at San Luis Obispo High School and a real force on the Tigers basketball team. He had a great sense of humor coupled with a quiet dignity. He was a winner.

Don you were loved by your parents,Fred and Maxine Bovee. You were a brother to Eleanor McGrath, Florence Jones, Mariyn Hildebran,Jim Bovee,Francis Broreman, Mary Soouza, and David Bovee, which all went before you except Francis and Mary. Your family respected your achievements and loved you.

Thank you for your kindness to me throughout my life. I will always be grateful to you for all the wonderful memories especially the times that we spent with you in San Francisco. Your interest in family history has lighted mine. You will never be forgotten.Thank you.
With love,
Susan Hildebran McCrary

Don was a gentleman and a friend and we had many visits in San Francisco and Atascadero.

Was sad to hear of Don's passing. He was so much fun in High School. Only saw him one time after graduation but thought of all the fun and laughs we shared in school many times after that. Rest in peace Don.
