Donald Marvin Boykin, age 77, was born January 8, 1939 in Soper, OK, the son of William Thomas Boykin and Ollie (Lewis) Boykin. He grew up in Soper and had lived in Mustang, OK for 40 years. His parents preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a son, John Eggenberg, grandson, Jayson Eggenberg, brothers, Haston Boykin, Raymond Boykin and Alford Boykin and sisters, Lillian Waugh and Josie Ice. Donald married Novella Jane Reed on August 21, 1973. He umpired Little League Baseball for many years and was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed playing dominoes and cards. Donald worked as a diesel mechanic for over 35 years. He was affiliated with the Assembly of God Church. SURVIVORS INCLUDE: his wife, Janie Boykin; sons, Gary Don Boykin of Claremore, OK and Jay Eggenberg of Mustang, OK; daughters, Glenda Bacon and husband, Jim of Claremore, OK and Jennie Rowell of Little Axe, OK; sister, Dollie Burton of Soper, OK; brothers, Garland Boykin and wife, Georgie of Oklahoma City, OK, Burrel Boykin and wife, Mable of Soper, OK, Orval Boykin and wife, Becky of Soper, OK, and Vance Boykin and wife, Mary of Soper, OK; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews along with many other relatives and friends. So very sorry for the families loss of such a kind, and sweet man, who I know loved life, God, and his Family and Friends so much. He will be missed very much, by folks like me who had the opportunity to spend time with him, (in my case, I worked the elections with him and Novella, ) and got to hear him tell stories of his growing up years in Soper, Okla. He loved people, and loved spending time with his friends and family. Don was a kidder, as well. I'm going to miss the man who sat next to...

One of my favorite memories of Uncle Donald was one of the times Grandpa Waugh was in the Hugo. Kendra made up two games. One was called the run and hug game and the other was the run and kiss game. She was playing the run and hug game with several of my great uncles that were there. Uncle Donald showed up and jumped in front of them but made the mistake of giving her a hug and kiss game. Kendra was all of 3 almost 4 years old and looked him in the eye and said you are playing this wrong....
