Not sure what to say?

Don was a total gentleman, with a heart for others. His world was built around the personal and professional relationships that he worked so hard to develop and nurture. I had the pleasure of knowing Don as a friend for over twenty years. We are all better for Don's influence in our lives.

I consider myself very lucky to have had Don as my grandfather. He set the standard very high for what it meant to be a son, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He was kind, smart, generous, funny, thoughtful and loyal. I will really miss that twinkle in his blue eyes when he smiled and his ability to make everyone feel special. He was one of the most selfless people I’ve ever known. If you ever needed his advice or help, he would always make the time for you. I am so...

Mr Butcher was like a second father to me because Joe is one of my dearest friends and we grew up together in Okemos. Mr Butcher was truly one of the kindest, most generous and most humble person I have ever known! Mr Butcher always made me feel part of his family and even let me go on their vacations! This is a great loss for Spartan Nation! Mr Butcher will be sorely missed and remembered for the countless number of lives he touched! May he RIP with Mrs Butcher now!

I remember Don years ago at Arkie's Barber Shop. I have thought of him over the years, always great memories. Sorry about the lost, Joe and Family.

I feel incredibly fortunate to have had such an amazing and generous man as my grandfather. He always made time to give me advice or offer a new perspective on a problem I had. With him I made so many memories and learned so many life lessons that I will forever cherish.
