Donald E. Chase, 87, died Sunday, January 1, 2023. Born in Providence, RI, he served as a Fire Fighter on the flight line for the US Air Force for 20 years, retiring in 1972. He then went to work as a Fire Fighter for the Civil Service at the Naval Weapons Station. He was a certified First Aid and EMT instructor through the Red Cross for many years and was an avid golfer. A devout Christian, he was a member of Restoration Church but had more recently been attending Liberty Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Chase, two sons, Donald Chase and David Chase, and two grandchildren, Eric Michael Chase and Kristen Chase. Survivors include his son, Michael Henry Chase and wife Terrie; his daughter-in-law, Kitty Chase; four grandchildren, Nikki Clapsaddle, Christopher Chase, Devon Goodwyn, and Kelley Dansereau; six great-grandchildren; a sister; and a brother.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 9, 2023 at Hampton Memorial Gardens with Air Force honors.
