Emily and family!
I hope that the messages here provide you comfort for your loss. Don's memory will forever be cherished on this earth as he did so many great things. He was a true inspiration to me, a "nobody" songwriter and countless others. I will treasure the moments I had with him. May God bless your family and help you to heal through this.

I met Don in 2005, and immediately became friends with him. What a gentle intelligent man. There was always a laugh - he had a way to make his friends say funny things - and he was always a joy to be with. I was a lucky songwriter/musician to have been able to get to know Don and write and perform with him. He will be deeply missed by both Tammy and myself. Our sympathy to Emily and the family.

MIss Emily, and to all of Don's family, I am so sorry for you loss. I was one of countless fledgling songwriters who Don encouraged, and I will forever be grateful to him for that. What a sweet, sincere gentleman. My prayers go out to you all in this great time of sorrow. We truly have lost one of the good ones.

To Don's Family and Friends:
Don was one of the most respected, admired and loved songwriters. Just his demeanor -- his paitence and wit taught me a lot. Don accompanied me to Washington, D.C. to advocate for songwriter rights. He made special friends with Congressman Howard Coble who headed the Committee that dealt with songwriter issues. They bonded and their communications both advanced the songwriter agenda... and they beacame friends. I was with Congressman Coble this week. He...

One of my fondest memories as a child was a visit from Uncle Don and Aunt Emily. Uncle Don pulled out his guitar and sang songs for us as my grandfather recorded it. Uncle Don sang Hank, Poor Little Jimmy, Country Bumpkin and a few other songs. I still have that old recording from 1975 and cherish it very much. So thankful for the time I did get to share with my family.
My thoughts and prayers are with you today. Love and Blessings.
