COFFIN, Donald Lloyd, - Of Burton, age 79, passed away Friday, June 27, 2008 at Genesys Hospice Care Center in Goodrich. Funeral service will be held 11AM Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Gary Cech, officiating and Reverend Dr. "Cuz" David Coffin, co-officiating. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association. Visitation 1-8PM Sunday, 10AM-9PM Monday and 9AM Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Don was born in Rice Lake, Wisconsin on October 20, 1928, the son of George and Nettie Coffin. He married Mary "Joanne" Yoes in 1950 and she preceded him in death in 1997. He later married Juanita Leamy on March 10, 2002. Don retired from General Motors Fisher Body 1. He loved NASCAR, playing board games and cards with his grandchildren, long rides in the country and spending time with his family. Surviving are wife, Juanita; 3 children, Debra Christman of Fenton, Jerry and wife Mona of Burton, Sherry and husband John Krish of Swartz Creek; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer and husband Brian Berryhill, Julie Christman, Jason Christman, Aaron Brow, Jeremy Castle, Sara Krish, James Coffin, Jake Coffin, Teresa and husband Steve Boyd and Paul and wife Julie Christman; great-grandchildren, Elijah and Sebastian Berryhill; 3 step-children,; John and wife Debra Vecellio, Janis and husband John True, Jim and wife Delia Vecellio; many step-grandchildren and step-greatgrandchildren who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and 3 brothers and his best friend, Patrick VanEckhoutte. The family would like to thank the many caregivers at Genesys Grand Blanc Rehab and Nursing Center, Genesys Hospice, Visiting Nurses and therapists for the loving care they provided.
