Donald M. Curry

Sir Donald Curry will always be remembered through our Birmingham Board of Education. Remembering the awesome job instilling character in our boys and girls.

I met Donald Curry my freshman year at ASU. He introduced me to many smooth jazz artist. We both sported big afros and the bell bottom trousers. We were cool. I haven´t seen nor spoken to Don since 1977, the year I dropped out to go into the Marine Corp. Now that I´ve retired, my plan was to rekindle our friendship, so just now, finding out he passed, well, so sad. Rest in peace old friend. To my Curry family. The days spent with the Atomic Express and Donald, Darrell, Glenn Henry, Ricky Comer, Debbie Alexander will be a large memory in my heart. It was never work. Merely a labor of love. Donald will be sorely missed.

To Darrell and Anita and the rest of the family of Donald Curry, my prayers are with you. I have known your family for the majority of my life and of course you know I spent many days over to your mom and dad's home chatting with your mom Gloria about the Arts in Birmingham. I know she is in heaven welcoming Donald with loving and open arms. RIP my brother.
