Not sure what to say?

Today is Sept. 19, 2007, and I just found out that Don passed away. It saddened me greatly.
I worked for Don in the mid 80's when he took over the DQ in Overland Park. It was a long time ago, but it seems like yesterday.
Don was a positive role model to the teenagers that worked for him, and I will never forget that. You will alway be remembered.

To Mary Ann & Fred:
I am very thankful that Don was my cousin; he was such a good man and FUN to be around. No one can take his place.

I, like Cindy and Fred, worked for Don in the late '80s at DQ. In fact, it was my first job and only job through high school and into my first year of college. Don genuinely helped me grow up, teaching me to love my parents at an age when most boys barely recognize they exist (unless they need money!). Don was a great boss, but above that a great friend. He is missed.

Donald Lou,
I miss you every day, yet I see you everywhere. Your influnces are definate and profound. I am a better person for having been lucky enough to have you as a friend. Somehow I hope you now know how much you were loved and respected by everyone you touched....SINCE YOU WOULD NEVER LISTEN TO ME!!!!
I love you dear friend and until we meet again "all rise"!!!

Upon hearing of Don's death I was saddened and in shock. Don was a good friend and we enjoyed many good times, memories and talks. I respected and admired him and have always been proud to have know him. I will miss seeing his face and hearing his voice at the football games and singing "We Gotta Get Out of this Place" but his memory will go on.

Don was my first friend (Kindergarten at St. Cyril's), although knowing Don, I probably was not his first friend. Don and I grew up together. I'll always remember the pick-up baseball games, street football, ping pong tournaments and cheering the Kansas City A's. Judging by all the kind words and tributes to Don by everyone who knew him, Don might have been the "richest" man in town.

Dear Don,
I hope now you know how much you were loved and respected by your fellow classmates, peers and all citizens of Wyandotte County. Whenever we saw you, all you could say was how proud you were of us, and of our children. I just want you to know how proud we are of you and what you did for our community, the Bishop Ward community as well as WYCO, and most recently the parish of the Cathedral of St. Peter. We had our annual Fall Festival the day after Don died, and he had signed...

We were so sorry to hear of the death of Don Denney. Mike particulary remembers the trips of the Ward High School Freshman football team to visit Don at the Dairy Queen. I appreciated our Class of 1970 reunions...I think Don was one of the forces that kept our class close. Don's cheerfulness was ubiquitous. It is
sad that his life was cut short, as Don personified "joie de vivre," by definition: joy of living, bouyant enjoyment of life." That was Don.

We especially express our...

I attended the funeral on Wednesday and I can say that it was a wonderful sight to see all of the hundreds of people that attended. I was honored to meet several of his co-workers and I was lucky enough for some of them to invite me to sit at their table and eat with them after the funeral. I appreciate the stories they told me about Don's last 16 years and I learned several new things about Don, including his love for Bishop Ward High School and that he was their announcer for football games...
