Not sure what to say?

So sorry to hear this news. Don was one of my very best friends in Sterling, Colorado during JHS. Although I moved to Texas in 1960, we were able to touch base a couple of times in the 80's. Don accomplished much! Prayers for the family of my friend.

God bless and keep you close to HIM my buddy Don. Am so glad we we able to spend time together in June, when I came back to Sterling for Gene Meisener's funeral. I always wished I was more like! You were such a great athlete, great musician, warm friend, loving husband and father, and a gentle teacher and coach. Your Blue Horizon organization for young people in Brush, is such a great organization that has helped so many young kids. I know God has a special mansion all picked out for...

Good Morning! I know you do not know me, but I am a distant cousin of Don's. His Dad and my Dad, Alfred Preston Dillehay, were 1st Cousins. I remember seeing Dwight and Thelma several times and when I worked at the J&L in Sterling I waited on Thelma many times when she was a Dorm mother at the college. She was always very pleasant. People would always ask me if I was related to Don and I told them we are cousins but I never got to meet him in person so I plan to meet him one day in...

I was saddened by the news of Don's passing. I remember him when he used to play drums with his father, Dwight, and my father, Virg Rogers, in their 4 or 5 piece combo dance band back in the 50s and 60s. My condolences to Don's family. Rest in Peace, but keep dancing in Heaven!

Former class of 85. Don was my favorite teacher "ever". He was a truly nice person and had a rare love as an educator. You don't see that a lot any more. I am so grateful I have had many opportunities to talk with and work with Don these last few years. I will truly miss him.

Don and I taught PE at Sterling Junior High School. He was great at sharing stories. This is the story of the mongoose. Don wanted me to see his friend's mongoose. The friend placed a large wooden crate on a table in the P.E. office. Don told me to look through the door and I would see the mongoose back in the corner. I did and all of a sudden something flipped over my head landing on my back. I bumped my head and Don stood there cracking up as I shook this long fake tail off my back.Don was...

Don Dillehay is one of the nicest people that I have ever met. We first met as youngsters while playing midget-league baseball in Sterling, Colorado. When we became older we advanced into the Junior Legion program. Donnie was two years younger than the majority of players but he had the love and the talent to play at that higher level. We had a very strong team during those years he was a vital part of our success. The "Sterling Merchants Baseball" Town Team had a long and rich history of...
