To Don's famly ... I remember many enjoyable Saturday mornings following Don's lead on bike rides from Russell's parking lot in Washington. His stamina was matched only by his positive and supportive attitude as he encouraged those of us who had to struggle to keep up with out 70+ year-old leader. His passing is a loss to many in the area.

I rode many miles with Don and they were always great ones. He was an inspiration to me and all who knew him. The wind is at his back and he has a smile on his face right now I know. I will miss him greatly as will all of you.

Brenda, Don and family, I'm so very sorry I was not able to attend the services for Duke. He was always a pleasure to be around and will be badly missed. I feel for your loss as he was a wonderful man.

Dear Brenda, Holly, Nick and Family--

My condolences to the family. Like many others, I frequently joined Don for Saturday morning bike rides. His friendship, guidance, and leadership were much appreciated and will be missed.

Debbie, Brenda, Don - so sorry to learn of your dad passing on. "Duke" (as our family knew and loved him) was always an interesting and inspirational person to be around. My husband David & I couldn't be more thankful for him motivating our bicycling. He was a great guy, a great friend to my dad, and a joy to visit with whenever he would pop into Russell's from time to time. Our thoughts & prayers are with you. God bless you all.

Debbie, Brenda and Don, I am so sorry for your loss. Don was a dear friend of mine over the last 12 years and was my motivation and inspiration for beginning bicycling at a serious level at mid-life. We would meet for lunch periodically after his cycling days were over and I enjoyed his company and appreciated his friendship. He will be missed.
