Don was one of the nicest and friendliest people you will ever meet. We worked together for many years at the University, played cards with the guys and shared many laughs. We were so sad for Don when his dear wife passed away so suddenly and so early in life. Don will be forever remembered and forever missed. God bless and God speed.

I met Don while serving as associate director of the Fleischmann Planetarium. He was a good friend of the director, and quickly became my and my wife's good friend for many years. He would offer valuable advice when we planetarium workers ran into an audio-visual problem. After I left Reno for a job in New Jersey, Mary and I always looked forward to visiting him and his dog Winston when we returned for a vacation. I first met Dr. Potter when he was a professor at Nevada in the 1960s and was fortunate enough to become good friends with him after I joined the Reno Host Lions Club in the 1970s. He was truly a Renaissance man, with wide-ranging interests including photography and his enduring work about his flight crew in Lee's Crew.
