Donald Elmore Obituary
Don was a graduate of Lees McRae and UNC-Chapel Hill. He worked for the Gaston Gazette and New Bern Sun Journal as the Advertising Director. While Don lived in Gastonia and New Bern, he was very active in the local theaters directing and producing various plays and productions.
Don is preceded in death by his father. He is survived by: his mother, Joyce Jimison Elmore Hogan; his sister, Lisa Elmore Gillespie, her husband, Dr. Michael D. Gillespie, and their three sons, Aaron, Davis, and Clay; his children, Joshua Lewis Elmore, his wife, Alyson D'Antonoli Elmore; Emily Thomas Elmore, Robert Donald Elmore, their mother, Kim Jones Elmore; and special friend, Keith Michael McGinnis.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 3pm at Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation, Cancer Services of Gaston County, and/or East Baptist Church of Gastonia. Don was a great friend during my high school years. I have happy memories of acting with him in productions at the Gastonia Little Theater. He always had a smile on his face and brought out the best in others. My prayers are with his family.

I had the pleasure of acting with Don various times over a 20 year period, and being directed by him in one play. He was a happy, lively man and we all will miss him in the theater world. RIP, Don!

Don was an amazingly gifted student of mine at Grier Junior High. Always entertaining and unique as he approached the day, he exhibited the same personality with his children at Gardner Park Elementary. I will miss him and his radio program. Prayers for his mother, Kim and his children.
