Not sure what to say?

My condolences to the Faber family. I have just become aware that he has passed away. I interacted with Don as a professional and found him to be a strong and compassionate man. May he Rest In Peace. Gene Ragland

Heartfelt sympathies to the family. There are many great childhood memories, especially at the family home on Byron Center Avenue.

I first met Don shortly after Nancy died while riding the A2 bus commute to downtown Ann Arbor. When I boarded he was already on the bus from the previous stop. We had some wonderful conversations and laughs. I can't believe that was over 30 years ago. Well my friend, you had a good life and now you will have a another good life. Rest in peace in your life eternal. Meredith Burr, Superior Twp.

Deepest sympathy to the family and many friends of this good man. Don was a kind, smart and always positive man. An encounter with Don always made your day better. Not many authors had the gift of making you laugh out loud while reading a book of Michigan history. A true gentleman who loved deeply and appreciated everyone close to him.

A beautiful tribute to Don! He and Nancy lived across the street; my daughter baby-sat for their wee ones when they were very young. It was one of her very favorite families to sit for. Don had a sparkle about him... special sense of humor. He will be missed terribly, I'm sure. What a wonderful family he has spent so many years with, and still growing. Happy for you all that you had this special man in your life!

So sorry to hear of Don passing. I always enjoyed spending time with Don when he and Nancy visited at holidays when I was married to his brother in law. I ran into him a few times when attending music events. Will miss his smile and sense of humor.

You are in my thoughts and prayers. I enjoyed working with Don at the Ann Arbor News, and catching up with him occasionally at the Ann Arbor public library. Such a nice guy! Sending comfort and sympathy, Anne Martino

I will always remember his teasing and laughter at choir practice! He was well loved and will be missed by many! God has another faithfull member in the heavenly choir! Love you Jeanette!

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.
