I have known Mr. Farley through my work for Oberlin College over the last twenty past years and have deeply appreciated his kindness, wisdom, and commitment. He will be missed.

Please accept sympathy and condolences on your loss. Don Farley's life was well lived, indeed. I especially enjoyed his thoughtful conversational turns, as well as Martha's baked goods during our annual alley cleanup. In fact, the alley doesn't really get cleaned up since Don, who was our neighborhood's leader, retired from Oak Ave. We named spur alley, Farley Way, in his honor. He was a very kind, intelligent man with a strong can-do spirit.

I am so sorry to hear of his death and I remember him fondly from when I was in Sunday School at the First Congregational Church in Wilmette, IL. He was a lovely man.

Early habits last a long time. Our family lived across and down the alley from First Congregational Church of Wilmette. I remember Rev. Farley well. Sunday mornings were for Sunday School and for 11:00 worship. His presence brought a connection and gentleness that I discovered rare in ministers in later years. Thoughtful.
