Donald H. Feld

Dr. Field was by far the best teacher I ever had. He taught a lot more than Earth science. He discovered that I have a learning disability and went out of his way to assist me with all of my studies, and would also drive me home after school as he had me study in his classroom several days a week. He was one of the nicest people I have ever met and I think of him often. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Don was my accordion teacher. He came to our home once a week and provided my parents with a dream that some day I would become the Liberace of the squeeze box, however I never achieved that stardom. He did provide me with a treasured collection of sheet music. He also crossed my path at Hinsdale Central where I graduated in 1961. For many years my parents owned Stephen's Dept.
